THANKSGIVING AND BUYNOTHING DAY

 Thanksgiving day is a holiday celebrated in the USA on the fourth Thursday in November. It is a traditionally day for families and friends to get together for  a special dinner. The meal often includes a Turkey, potatoes, gravy sauce, pumpkin pie and vegetables. Thanksgiving day is a time for many people to give thanks for what they have got. The first Thanksgiving day celebrated by the Piligrims in 1621; they go to America, from England, for religion problems. BuyNothing Day is an international day of protest against consumerism, the Friday after Thanksgiving. It's a day where anyone can take part for spending a day without spending and it's a day for reflecting on the habits of the consumerism of all people.

     

 

MY SCHOOL DESCRIPTION

The name of my school is Galileo Galilei. In my school there are three buildings. In the first there are three floors:on the ground floor there are classrooms;on the first floor there are classrooms and our headmaster's office; on the second there are classrooms, language labs and informatic lab. In the second building there are only classrooms. the third building is a theatre where some students dance and play instruments. There are also a gym,a parking cars and a volleyball field. In my class there are 15 students,Emanuela sits next to me,she's friendly and very lovely! My teachers aren't bad,they are kind with all the class and homework isn't hard.

Hi,my name is Claudia and my surname is Arnese, I live in Mondragone, I'm 13 and I was born on March 9th. I attend the first year in high school. I'm petit, I've got curly, brown hair and brown eyes. In my free time I love reading, listening to music, watching TV and going out for  walks with my friends. I love swimming, playing volleyball and playing the piano. My favourite subjects are Maths, English and Spanish. There are four people in my family: my father Andrea, who is a special education teacher, my mother Rosanna, who is an Italian teacher and my brother Marco, who is a student.

MEANING OF MY NAME

Claudia is the female form of a Roman surname Claudius,based on claudus,"lame". Even if it present in the New Testament (a woman Claudia is cited from Paolo in his second letter to Timoteo),it is not diffused in Christian ambient.In Italy,Claudia was particularly popular in 1980: in fact it is among the first 20 names most used for babies.
